FIDLAR - The Espy
FIDLAR (F**K It Dog, Life’s A Risk) is an American skate punk/ garage punk band originally from Los Angeles, California.
FIDLAR was first formed in 2009 by Zac Carper, Brandon Schwartzel, and Elvis and Max Kuehn; with the Kuehn brothers being the sons of Greg Kuehn, keyboardist for Long Beach punk legends T.S.O.L., Zac Carper (vocals/guitar) is the son of famed surfboard designer John Carper and Brandon Schwartzel (bassist), is the half cousin of Elvis and Max. The group released several songs which led to the band signed with Mom + Pop Music Records for the United States distribution, Whichita Recordings for the United Kingdom, and Dine Alone Records for Canada.
FIDLAR released their first EP entitled “Don’t Try” in 2012, and was also named by Stereogum as one of the 40 Best New Bands of 2012. The band followed “Don’t Try” with three more EPs, “No Waves/ No Ass,” “Shit We Recorded In Our Bedroom,” and “DIYDUI.” Having been so busy recording the EPs, plus some touring with The Hives and The Black Lips, the band released their self-titled debut album in 2013. Additionally in 2013 the band was nominated as Best Web-Born Artist for the O Music Awards as well as a nomination for Best Live Act for an AIM Independent Music Awards. Some of their songs have also been used in soundtracks for movies, and video games.
